Command-line AV

How does the command-line AV work? Say I specify a command called c:\temp\checkmail.exe

I would then put the following that screen?

c:\temp\checkmail.exe %FILEPATH

Say the program reviews the email and finds it is infected. What is supposed to happen then?

It's up to the command line application to move the file it is checking if it contains anything.
