Disable password strength for existing passwords feature not working?
Problem reported by Joshua Parker - 12/23/2014 at 6:47 AM

I am running the latest version of Smartermail and we are preparing to implement password requirements to start the new year.  I set all of the settings and made sure to check the box to disable password strength for existing passwords and was greeted by a large number of calls this morning from users who got an email stating their password did not meet requirements.  Am I mistaken in how I thought this would work?  I was hoping to put the requirements in early and then uncheck the existing password box to start the new year.

Hello Joshua,

Thanks for the inquiry. Can you please provide us with more details on the settings and the configurations. I believe you are correct that the option ' disable password strength for existing passwords' would not cause the user accounts to modify their login until you unchecked the option. Please consider opening a Support Ticket so we may review this further. If there is a bug or problem with the features we will provide a credit back to you.

Thanks.

Yep its a bug. Here is a reply from ST staff on Nov 19 regarding. "Our developers have confirmed this as a bug and have added it into their list of defects to review. This will be corrected in a future minor release however at this time it has not been scheduled so I cannot offer a ETA."
